the art of domestication
Wild mushrooms are nature’s masterpieces, but their environment is unpredictable. Temperature, humidity, and soil all influence their growth. To achieve consistent quality and potency, our cultivators use a process called domestication.
It begins by collecting wild mushroom strains from pristine forests. These wild strains are grown under controlled conditions, season after season, until a stable, high-performing culture is established. Each generation is evaluated for density, aroma, and concentration of active compounds.
When the ideal strain is identified, it undergoes DNA testing to confirm its identity and purity. The result is a domesticated wild strain that retains the vitality of its forest origin yet grows with dependable strength and consistency.
Domestication preserves the wild character of the mushroom while ensuring uniform quality in every harvest—a key step in producing reliable functional mushroom extract powder.
grown with Integrity
Once the strains are ready, they are cultivated by trained farmers in remote mountain regions. These farms follow organic and DaoDi principles, meaning the mushrooms are grown in their native habitat using only natural methods.
No herbicides, no pesticides, no synthetic fertilizers. The mushrooms grow in fresh air, clean water, and nutrient-rich substrate, absorbing the full essence of their environment.

DaoDi and organic, together
DaoDi is an ancient Chinese concept meaning “true to place.” It refers to cultivating herbs and fungi where they naturally thrive.
Organic certification ensures modern environmental integrity and chemical-free farming. Together, DaoDi and organic principles guarantee mushrooms that are both authentic and pure, meeting the standards required for SKAL-certified organic production.
fruiting body, not mycelium
A mushroom has two main parts: the mycelium and the fruiting body. The mycelium is an underground network that absorbs nutrients from soil or wood. The fruiting body is the visible “mushroom” that grows above ground and releases spores.
The fruiting body holds the highest concentration of beneficial compounds such as beta-glucans, polysaccharides, and triterpenes. Veda Vana uses only pure fruiting body extracts. Each gram of powder comes from the most nutrient-dense and active part of the mushroom, never from the substrate it was grown on.

The outer walls of mushrooms are made of chitin, a tough fiber that our bodies cannot digest. Inside these walls lie valuable compounds such as beta-glucans and triterpenes.
Dual extraction unlocks these nutrients completely. Water extraction draws out the water-soluble elements, while alcohol extraction releases alcohol-soluble compounds.
By combining both methods, we create a full-spectrum mushroom extract that mirrors the mushroom’s natural chemistry. This makes every serving more bioavailable, balanced, and consistent.
why rigorous testing matters
Mushrooms are bio-accumulators. They absorb minerals and compounds from their environment, both beneficial and harmful. Without testing, they can contain heavy metals, pesticides, or other residues.
Every batch is tested multiple times—on the farm, upon arrival, and after extraction. Analyses include heavy metals, aflatoxins, pesticide residues, microbial safety, moisture, and active compound levels such as beta-glucans and triterpenes.
This ensures each organic mushroom extract powder is clean, safe, and true to specification.
from lab to tin
After passing all quality checks, the extracts are blended and packed at the production facility, where every step follows strict GMP and organic procedures. Once complete, the finished extracts are shipped to the Netherlands for SKAL-certified inspection and storage before distribution.
